Heather McHugh
Principal
Heather McHugh leverages the lessons learned over 20 years in various staff positions in Congress as well as in the private sector.
McHugh served as Legislative Director for Senator Charles E. Schumer of New York, where she oversaw his entire legislative agenda including his roles on the Finance, Banking and Judiciary Committees and within Democratic Leadership.
Prior to that McHugh was the Policy Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) where she acted as then-Chairman Chris Van Hollen’s primary leadership staffer and served as a conduit between leadership and DCCC staff.
McHugh began her career with eight years of experience staffing members of the House Committee on Financial Services, first with Rep. Nydia Velazquez then as Legislative Director to Rep. Steve Israel, both of NY.
Since 2013, Heather has represented some of the nation's most important corporations, trade associations and organizations on critical legislative and regulatory issues.
A native of New York, Heather holds a BA from the University of Richmond in International Relations and Economics. She currently resides in Washington, DC and enjoys global travel.
