Ashli Scott Palmer

Ashli Palmer has advanced successful strategies on legislative priorities as a government affairs consultant and during her tenure in the House Democratic Leadership and the Executive Branch.

Having begun her career nearly two decades ago as a Staff Assistant, she rose through the ranks, served as Policy Director for Assistant Democratic Leader James E. Clyburn (D-SC) and as a Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the Obama Administration. Ashli capped her government service as the Director of Floor Operations for Majority Whip Clyburn, where she was a trusted advisor to House Leadership, including Majority Leader Hoyer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and members across the spectrum of the House Democratic Caucus.

Elizabeth Stanley

Principal

Elizabeth Stanley worked on Capitol Hill and Democratic campaigns for more than two decades. A native of Alabama, she most recently was Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Nita Lowey of New York, the first woman to chair the House Appropriations Committee, after having begun her Hill career on New York Senator Chuck Schumer’s first Senate staff.

Elizabeth was integral to Chairwoman Lowey’s ascent in leadership and her policy achievements on local, federal and international priorities. In addition to engaging with committee and Congressional leadership staff on high profile political and policy battles, she directed Lowey’s efforts as a Co-Dean of the New York Congressional Delegation and as a member of the Democratic Steering and Policy Committee. Elizabeth offers keen insight into the federal appropriations process along with experience on a wide range of issues from pandemic and disaster recovery and foreign assistance to health research and development, non-profit security, consumer safety, and more.

Lea Sulkala

Principal

Lea Sulkala has nearly two decades of experience as a senior staff member on Capitol Hill and as a lobbyist.

Most recently Lea was Chief of Staff to Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA), who during her tenure served as Vice Chair of the House Democratic Caucus and as Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus. As Chief of Staff, Lea oversaw all of Rep. Sanchez’s work in House Democratic Leadership and on the Ways and Means Committee.

Meghan Taira

Principal

Meghan Taira spent 20 years working in Congress, mostly in the Senate. Most recently, she served for 12 years as Legislative Director to Senator Schumer, including his first eight years as Minority and Majority Leader. She managed his legislative team, oversaw floor passage of bills and nominations, and served as a lead negotiator for Senate Democrats on all manner of legislation: appropriations, authorizations, reconciliation and treaties. In this role she also led the weekly Senate Democratic LDs meeting and briefed the weekly Senate Democratic Chief of Staff meeting.
